The Digital Learning Coaches of Keep Indiana Learning are a cohort of exceptional learning specialists throughout the state of Indiana. These coaches collaborate with districts across the state to create content needs to support teachers, leaders, and students. Much of the content on Keep Indiana Learning is created and developed by these instructional leaders. Tim Arnold is a District eLearning Specialist with Richmond Community schools in Richmond, IN. Prior to that, he was a social studies teacher, coach, and educational leader at Nettle Creek Schools in Hagerstown, IN. Tim was selected as a Top Ten Educator in the State of Indiana, taught Social Studies methods in the Earlham College Master of Arts in Teaching program, and has presented at multiple local, state and national conferences (ICE, HECC, CanvasCon, InstructureCon, ISTE) on topics he is passionate about including blended learning, student engagement, Canvas, G Suite for Education, and Building Community through VR Tour Creator. Additionally, Tim holds certifications in Technology Leadership (CIESC Cohort 8), Google (Level 1), FlipGrid, and Nearpod and collaborates with @RCSLearn colleagues to host a Twitter chat with over 120 episodes. Tim’s mantra is to serve others with patient persistence.

Laura Christie, an educator with over 21 years of experience, desires to see all kids engaged in classrooms where learning allows for variabilities and student agency. She believes in developing bonds with students and helping them find their passion. Laura has presented at IACTE on Student Led Passion Projects. She holds credentials in UDL, Universal Design for Learning, and uses the UDL guidelines to guide instruction. Her passion is curriculum with technology integration and helping lead educators to grow in their craft. In 2020, Laura is a IU Jacobs Educator recipient to help support technology integration in Indiana and serve as a Mentor for the GEER Grant lesson repository. Now Laura is serving as a Jacobs Educator fellow in CS lesson development. Laura’s background is in Elementary Education with a Special Education minor from Ball State University. Additionally, Laura obtained a Masters in Educational Administration at Butler University, EPPSP. Currently, Laura is serving as the Assistant Principal at Union Elementary in Zionsville Community Schools.

Jo Cox is the Technology Integration Specialist for Yorktown Community Schools. Her background in teaching is in Business Ed, teaching courses such as Economics, Personal Finance, and Computer Science. Both her Bachelors and Masters degree were earned at BSU. In her work with Yorktown Community Schools, she is in charge of professional learning, technology integration and eLearning. She is a Canvas Admin and enthusiast, specializing in implementation throughout the district. She is currently training with FORD NGLU in Project Based Learning and is also working with AJ Juliani in Cohort 2 of YCS’s PBL initiative. She is a member of Indiana Connected Educators and HECC. Jo has presented at several technology conferences, including HECC. Jo is enthusiastic about learning and helping others reach their full potential.

Julia Crone is the Director of the IDEALab Makerspace at Plainfield Community Middle School. In her role, she wears many different hats. One part of her role is to help teachers access resources such as supplies, community contacts, and tech, in order to give PCMS students stronger, more connected, and more realistic experiences. Another major part of her role is to train and support teachers with Design Thinking and the 4C’s. Julia also runs a Tech Squad through her lab. These are top tech students in her building who have been trained to run everything from 3D printers, to the green screen room, and even fly drones! She works closely with contacts from Eli Lily, Tech Point, Duke Energy, the Town of Plainfield, and more to connect students to the real world. Julia is in her 11th year of teaching and has previously taught Social Studies at both the High School and Middle School levels. This fall she also added Remote Learning Facilitator to her resume. The turning point in her educational career is when she stopped having a single definition of creative and started viewing failures as wins. Put yourself out there and see what sticks!

Bo teaches a variety of STEM classes and runs Lion Manufacturing, a student-run business at Loogootee High School. In his 8 years in education, Bo has taught 7th grade math up to Calculus, college-credit physics, PLTW Engineering courses, and additive manufacturing. Bo has a passion for giving his students authentic learning experiences by utilizing community partners to enable his students to engage in project-based learning. In his engineering and additive manufacturing classes, students utilize the latest technology to work side-by-side with community industry partners to solve real problems and produce real products to generate income for the program. In his mathematics classes, Bo is an avid user of Desmos and the Google Suite to bring the mathematical modeling of real-world data into the classroom.

Sandy Goehring is the Compliance Coordinator and Special Education Personalized Learning Coach for Noblesville Schools. Prior to her current position, she served as an elementary teacher, instructional coach, and assistant principal for five years. She is a proud Butler Bulldog. She received both her Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and Masters degree through EPPSP. In her current position, she is responsible for supporting teachers in developing high quality, compliant Individualized Education Programs. She provides one-on-one coaching to strengthen goal writing using programs such as Goalbook. Sandy is also responsible for developing and maintain the district Medicaid billing and ClaimAid process. This year, she has also had the opportunity to serve as a virtual second grade teacher. Because of her passion for digital learning, this has been an exciting adventure!

Adam Hofer is an English/Language Arts teacher as well as an instructional coach at Franklin County High School in Brookville, IN. Adam has worked in the classroom for 13 years with students in grades 7-12 supporting student learning through various initiatives including Early College programs, a Freshman Academy, and ACP/dual credit courses. Adam is passionate about learning and working alongside students and adult learners, utilizing Canvas LMS (#CanvasFam), and providing meaningful feedback. His other roles include English department chair and theatre director. Adam is passionate about fostering relationships while in teaching and coaching roles and looks forward to building new connections while helping others.

Dianna Knox is the Technology Instructional Specialist for Clay Community Schools in Brazil, Indiana. She is in her fourth year in this position but also has a background in Spanish, English, Communications, and Theatre. She worked on implementing blended learning and flipped lessons as well as many other tech tools into her daily lessons. In transitioning to the role in instructional technology she has grown her love for collaboration, blended learning, all things Google, and helping teachers get to their “a-ha” moment with technology integration. Dianna is a board member for Hoosier Educational Computer Coordinators (HECC) and is a member of Alpha Delta Kappa, Indiana Connected Educators, and ISTE. Currently, she is pursuing an M.Ed in Learning and Technology from WGU-Indiana and is focusing on her capstone project which will help teachers create relationships with students in online and blended learning environments using Canvas (or their LMS of choice). She loves learning new skills and helping others.

Nicole Nelson is the K-12 Technology Integration Specialist for Lewis Cass Schools in Walton, Indiana. She works to support teachers in their efforts to implement technology in meaningful ways in order to increase student engagement. In addition, she works with the elementary media specialist on planning digital citizenship and computer science curriculum. Nicole has more than 20 years of classroom experience in the primary grades as well as STEM education with middle school students. She is a Google Certified Trainer and Educator with a passion for helping teachers leverage these tools to incorporate creativity, collaboration and critical thinking within their classrooms.

Shannon Quigley is a District Technology Coordinator for Fort Wayne Community Schools. She works with teachers and students in K-12 to develop learning activities that leverage digital resources in meaningful, engaging ways for students. Shannon found her passion for technology integration in the classroom as an Elementary Teacher and then in her work as an Instructional Coach supporting fellow teachers. She is a Google Certified Trainer and loves sharing the power of collaboration and creativity with teachers through these tools. Shannon regularly works with teachers to integrate blended learning strategies, incorporate STEM/STEAM into lessons, and strengthen students’ ability to create and collaborate. Shannon has a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Purdue University and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from The American College of Education.

Amy Stevens is the Technology Integration Specialist and PLTW Launch Teacher for grades K-5 at Tri Elementary. This is her 17th year as an Indiana elementary educator. Amy earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from Indiana University and her Masters in Arts of Teaching from Marian College’s (now Marian University) Transition to Teaching program. Over the years, Amy and her teammates have taken districts from a single cart of devices to 1:1, as well as from paper packets to meaningful virtual instruction. She has led her students, staff and other IN educators through various learning ed-ventures. As an Apple Teacher, her newest ed-venture is completing the Apple Learning Coach certification. Her passion is to encourage students to grow as problem solvers and to encourage teachers to grow the idea of “best practices in the classroom” while ensuring that all learners know that she is their biggest fan.

Jonathan Winslow is the Instructional Coaching Coordinator at MSD of Steuben County in Angola, IN. He is a former Elementary Educator with his administrative license. In his school district he works with teachers in coaching cycles, facilitates instructional technology professional development, and meets twice a month with all new teachers in the district to provide support. In his coaching cycles and previous teaching experiences, he has developed successful blended learning environments based on the needs of the students he works with. He believes in meeting teachers, students, and staff where they are, while developing plans to help them move forward in their craft.

Jen Stewart is currently teaching a brand new, project-based STEM class at Maxwell Intermediate School. This is her 24th year of teaching. Prior to this year, she taught computer science, social studies, and language arts. Jen is a long-time Nearpod PioNear and a level three Nearpod Certified Educator. She is also an Apple Teacher. She has led many PD sessions around the Midwest on using technology to increase student engagement and learning.

Melissa Walley is the Educational Technology Specialist for Hanover Community School Corporation, located in Cedar Lake, Indiana. She has over twenty years of experience in education, with this being the fourth year in educational technology. Melissa has teaching experience in kindergarten through third grade and also has experience as an elementary school principal. In her current role with Hanover Community Schools, she is in charge of the elementary computer science curriculum and programming for the district, as well as K-8 instructional technology coaching. She has worked on the implementation of technology integration through Google Classroom and Schoology. Melissa is a Board Member for Hoosier Educational Computer Coordinators (HECC) and is a member of Indiana Connected Educators and ISTE. Her goal is to support educators and help them step out of their comfort zones.
